The United Church of Ellicottville's Community Food Pantry announces a new kind of fundraiser. This "Stone Soup Supper" is an opportunity for the entire community to show its support for the pantry. "we can all help in a small way", and the combined effort of all is sure to make a big impact on the pantry and it's clients.

The Stone Soup Supper will begin at 5:30PM and the concert will start at 7:00PM.

The UCE Food Pantry services over 200 clients per month. In the past year, we provided 2857 people with food to create 22,762 meals. This is a dramatic increase over the past 4 years. In 2011 we averaged 54 people per month (648 annually)

As our client numbers have increased, so have our costs. We strive to offer healthy food choices, including fresh vegetables and dairy products to our clients. We have eliminated some high sodium meats and exchanged them with healthier choices of proteins such as frozen fish and chicken. These improvements require greater funding

We are asking local restaurants to help by simply providing one item for the soup. This might be a 10lb bag of potatoes, a 5lb bag of carrots, or a couple dozen rolls. IN this manner we can create a "Stone Soup" to be enjoyed by all.

The Evening will include dinner, a raffle for the prized "Garden Face" (created and donated by local artist Brian Naber), and a concert by the Ellicottville Sound Choir. This Barbershop group is providing this concert (included free with dinner or a la carte for a donation to the pantry) in accordance with their charter to support local non profit causes.

For reservations (suggested donation $10) , information, or to volunteer, please contact Annie Widger 716 378-9419 or annie [dot] widger [at] gmail [dot] com
