Just a reminder that a workshop on haiku and haibun will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Olean Public Library. Carolyn Dancy and Michael Ketchek will conduct the workshop.
Someone asked me why haiku? Who I could do hours on this. It changed American poetry and gave rise to imagism the dominant style of the 20th century.
A haiku seizes the moment, hones description, finds meaning in the outside world, sharpens perception and can form the basis for longer poems.
If you're at all interested in writing poetry, don't miss this workshop.
Free eats! See you there.
